THOUGHT OF THE MONTH
The world in which our children grow today is increasingly diverse. All people have a unique story, but all stories, like all people, have many things in common. Let's use the power of stories to explore what is different and the same, new and shared, about ourselves and our experiences. It is this significance between stories and our experience that makes them so powerful. We've all created our own personal histories, marked by highs and lows, that we share with the world - and we can shape them to live with more meaning and purpose.

PASTOR BAILEY'S INSPRIATION MEDITATIONS OF THE MONTH
Time to Rejoice – 1 Samuel 2:1-2 – And Hannah prayed and said: “My heart rejoices in the LORD; My horn is exalted in the LORD. I smile at my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation. No one is holy like the LORD, for there is none besides You, nor is there any rock like our God.”
If I were to sum up the thrust of what Hannah says in her song here, it would be this: “God is in control. Therefore, rejoice!” Have you ever thought about that? God is in control, and therefore we may rejoice in him. It is sometimes hard for us to see this when we are going through a difficult time. That’s when it can be helpful to hear the testimony of someone else who has gone through a difficult time and has already passed to the other side. That’s where Hannah’s song comes in today. This song is her testimony, not only of what God has done in her life but of how God operates in all of life. And so, it can be an encouragement to us.
